Removing customer details when the customer has requested personal data to be erased
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - a right for individuals to have personal data erased.
If a customer contacts you requesting the removal of their personal data under GDPR, you must contact our technical team to have their details permanently anonymised from your simpleERB database.
Request Process
Please email help@simpleERB.com with the following information to initiate the request:
- Customer Name
- Contact Number
- Email Address
- Restaurant Name (associated with your simpleERB account)
Timeline: Please be aware that this process can take up to 28 days to complete. Our team will notify you via return email once the action has been finalized.
What happens to the data?
Once anonymised, the customer’s booking history (date, time, and number of covers) will be retained for your reporting and records, but all personally identifiable information (PII) will be permanently removed.
Immediate Steps
You can begin the data removal process immediately within your own account by ensuring the customer is "opted out" from your marketing database. Refer to our dedicated help article on how to opt-out customers for further instructions.
