How does the Grid view help with table management?
Grid view allows you to add bookings and make quick changes.
The Grid view is an essential tool for visualizing your entire restaurant floor in one place. It helps you identify peak periods and allows you to rearrange bookings to maximize your table availability.
Core Functionality
- Add Bookings/Walk-ins: Click any cell to quickly create a new booking or seat a walk-in customer.
- Joined Tables: Easily create table joins by selecting multiple cells before clicking the 'Book' button.
- Drag & Drop: Move bookings between tables by dragging the reservation block to a new cell. The system will automatically update table joins.
- Adjust Stay Times: Click and drag the end of a booking block to lengthen or shorten the stay time dynamically.
Management Tips for Efficiency
- Walk-in Strategy: Place drinkers at tables with reduced stay times to preserve prime tables for full-dining customers.
- Optimizing Joins: In peak periods, move existing bookings to single larger tables if they become available, freeing up your smaller tables for more covers.
- Dynamic Turnover: If a table decides they only want coffee or requests the bill early, reduce their stay time to squeeze in another reservation.
- Manager Overrides: Use manager authorization to override capacity limits-such as placing a party of 5 on a table maxed at 4 if you know they have a baby requiring space for a highchair. This can save larger tables for other potential customers.
Manager-Only Bookings
When a time slot is restricted (e.g., due to reduced turn times), the system will prompt for manager authorization via a PIN or login. This allows you to accept extra business that might otherwise be turned away, provided the customer agrees to the specific terms, such as a shorter stay.
