How does the payment or capture card process work on bookings?

simpleERB enforces booking payments and card capture rules to help you eliminate no-shows.

Requesting card details or deposits is a standard practice to secure revenue and minimize no-shows. simpleERB's payment processing is fully PCI and SCA (PSD2) compliant, ensuring that sensitive data is never exposed to staff.

Key Features

  • Flexible Rules: Set payment amounts based on date, time, party size, or specific offers.
  • Integration: We integrate securely with Stripe and takepayments. (Note: Transaction service fees apply).
  • Automation: Manage deadlines for telephone bookings and utilize automatic cancellation rules for unpaid reservations.

Online Widget Bookings

When a booking meets a payment rule, customers are alerted in the widget. They must agree to terms and conditions before being directed to your secure payment gateway.

  • Confirmation: A booking is only confirmed once payment or card capture is successfully completed.
  • Abandoned Bookings: If a customer fails to complete the payment, the booking is held provisionally for 15 minutes before being automatically cancelled.
  • Monitoring: Track these abandoned attempts in your Payment Reports under 'Unpaid Cancellations'.

Telephone Bookings

Staff can secure telephone bookings while remaining PCI compliant:

  1. Staff enter the booking and add the customer's email address.
  2. A secure payment link is automatically emailed to the customer.
  3. The booking remains provisional until the payment requirement is met by the set due date.
  4. If the deadline passes without fulfillment, the booking is automatically cancelled, and the customer is notified.
