How to set up payments and credit card capture booking conditions

Set specific rules for obtaining payments and credit card capture for your bookings.

To use these features, you must first integrate with either Stripe or takepayments. While included in the Pro plan, this feature can be added to Starter/Plus plans for an additional cost.

Rule Hierarchy

You can create multiple rules to cover different dates, times, or party sizes. If rules overlap, simpleERB applies them in the following order of priority:

  1. Booking Offers
  2. All Bookings
  3. Date
  4. Block of Dates
  5. Day of the Week
  6. Covers (calculated accordingly)

Creating a Rule

When selecting your rule, you will define the specifics in the dropdown menu. For example, you could require a £10 per-cover deposit for all bookings on Christmas Day, with a payment deadline set for 7 days after the booking is made.

Management: You can easily enable or disable rules at any time. Disabled rules remain at the bottom of the page should you need to re-enable them later.

Terms & Conditions

It is highly recommended to update your booking terms and conditions when enforcing payments or card capture. While simpleERB provides default text, you should ensure your policy clearly defines your stance on no-shows and late cancellations (e.g., specifying charges for cancellations within 24 hours).
