Payments No-Shows and Deposits

How to integrate with Stripe for payments and card capture

Set up simpleERB with Stripe to allow payments and credit card capture.

simpleERB provides a PCI-compliant environment to handle customer transactions. Integrating with Stripe allows you to either take deposits/payments upfront or securely capture card details for future charges in the event of a no-show.

Note: For security, sensitive card and payment information is stored entirely by Stripe and is never visible or stored within your simpleERB account.

Credit Card Capture vs. Payments

  • Credit Card Capture: Stores the customer's card details securely so you can charge them later if they fail to show up. (Ensure your Terms & Conditions clearly state this policy to your customers.)
  • Payments: Processes a payment from the customer immediately at the time of booking.

Connecting your Stripe Account

  1. Navigate to Advanced Settings > Payments Settings menu in simpleERB.
  2. Select 'Connect to Payment Provider account'.
  3. Enter your Stripe API keys.

Finding your Stripe API Keys

You can find your required credentials inside your Stripe Dashboard:

  • Go to the 'Developers' tab (bottom left-hand corner).
  • Select 'API Keys' from the left-hand menu.
  • Locate your Publishable Key and Secret Key.
  • When creating a Secret Key, select the 'Building your own integration' option and label it "simpleERB" for easy identification.

Test Mode vs. Live Mode

You can toggle between 'Test mode' and 'Live mode' in both your Stripe dashboard and simpleERB settings.

  • Test Mode: Use test keys and Stripe’s provided test card details to verify your payment mechanism and rules before going live.
  • Live Mode: Once ready, ensure you replace test keys with your valid Live mode keys.
