simpleERB - Release Update 16.3
This recent release included a range of fixes and improvements to booking controls and management, the card and payment workflows and the Reserve with Google booking integration.
Booking Management Updates
> Table management: Fixed issues affecting table swaps, drag-and-drop, table selection, and table joins, including joins across multiple booking areas.
> Booking amendments: Table selections are now retained when cover numbers are reduced on single tables and joined-table bookings.
> Improved Grid View: Updated scrolling and alignment to improve booking display for accounts with a large number of tables and booking areas.
> Table availability checks: Fixed issues affecting table ranking selection when minimum or maximum booking sizes are configured.
> Updated booking records: Manager overrides are now recorded accurately when multiple changes are made to a booking in a single update.
> Booking Option - Manager Display: Resolved an issue where Booking Options incorrectly displayed as a "manager override" on existing bookings.
Card & Payment Improvements
Widget card/payment bookings > Timed-out updates
Widget bookings are now provisionally held for 30 minutes. If no card or payment details are provided within this time, the booking will time out and be automatically cancelled.
If a customer enters their card details and attempts to complete the booking after the booking time-out, a message is displayed advising that the booking has been cancelled, any payment taken has been auto-refunded, and to try rebooking again.
Additional covers payment handling
For any booking that requires additional payment due to a cover increase, a fix is in place to follow a new workflow according to the due date or mandatory rule (if amended via the online widget).
The additional amount required is now displayed separately on the booking and updated once an additional sum is paid, with all changes recorded in the payment history box.
If payment for the additional cover increase is not received by the new workflow's due date, the booking will automatically follow the auto-cancellation process.
Mark as Paid / Payment Manager Overrides
Fixes have also been applied to the booking actions: Mark as Paid and a card/payment Manager Override. Once the action is selected and updated on the booking, any pending card/payment workflows are cancelled, with the booking remaining active and any existing paid amounts still displayed. Additional notes are recorded to outline all changes to the payment request.
Reserve with Google
> Larger party bookings: Table joins are now correctly recognised for larger-party bookings made through Google.
> Booking times: Fixed a rare issue that could cause UTC discrepancies in the diary display.
> Cancellations: Google bookings cancelled via the simpleERB diary are now correctly reflected by Google.
Widget & Online Availability
> Fixed an issue where removing same-day availability from a recurring time setting was not always applied correctly.
> Online availability suspension records are now automatically removed once expired.
Additional System Updates
> Resolved an issue where duplicate manual booking reminders were being sent.
> Improved booking recheck and availability rules.
> Customer name field is now required when creating phone bookings.
